Forest Green Tile Master Bath
Brown-tile master bath reimagined into a moody retreat with stacked forest-green ceramic tile, a freestanding soaking tub, and a matte black tub filler.
About This Project
Before this remodel, the master bath was the most dated room in the house — 1990s brown ceramic floor tile, painted-over tile around an oval drop-in tub, a framed corner shower with a fabric curtain, and sage-green walls. The homeowners wanted to lean into the wooded backyard view and use color in a way most builder-grade baths never do. We pulled everything down to the studs, re-routed plumbing for a center-room freestanding tub, and tiled both the shower walls and the tub-deck half-wall in stacked vertical 2x6 forest-green ceramic with a subtle handmade variation. The freestanding tub sits on a small tile podium under the window with a tall matte black floor-mount filler. The shower keeps a single recessed niche, a matte black rain head, and a half-wall divider tiled on both faces so the room reads as one continuous green volume. Trim, plumbing, and accents are all matte black. The result is a master bath that finally matches the home around it.
