Tub-to-Shower Conversions
Convert your unused master tub into a true walk-in shower. One-day acrylic, premium solid surface, or full custom tile — across Greenville, Anderson, Spartanburg, and the rest of Upstate SC.

From Outdated Tub to Walk-In Shower — In Days, Not Weeks
Most of the bathrooms we convert across the Upstate have the same story: a tub-shower combo from the 1980s or 1990s that nobody actually takes baths in anymore. Converting that tub to a proper walk-in shower opens up the room, makes daily use easier, and — depending on the product you choose — can be done in a single working day or built fully custom in tile.
We quote both options at the free in-home walkthrough so you see the real price difference for your specific bathroom. No high-pressure sales pitch, no 'today only' financing tricks — just an honest comparison of one-day systems versus custom tile, with line-item pricing for each.
Why this matters
If nobody in the house takes baths anymore, that tub is wasted square footage. Converting it to a walk-in shower is the single highest-ROI bathroom upgrade for most Upstate SC homes — and the only one buyers consistently mention as a deal-maker in the primary bath. As long as your home keeps at least one tub (typically the hall or guest bath), conversion almost always increases value.
What's Included in Your Conversion
Every line below is included in the written line-item quote — no surprise add-ons mid-project.
- Demo and haul-away of the old tub and surround
- Subfloor and stud inspection (with photos if we find anything)
- New shower pan or fully waterproofed tile pan
- Acrylic, solid-surface, or custom-tile wall system (your choice)
- New mixing valve, showerhead, and handheld wand if specified
- Glass door — sliding, pivot, or frameless — per scope
- Drywall repair, paint touch-up, and finish trim
- Final clean-up and a written workmanship warranty
One-day acrylic conversions start around $4,500. Solid-surface one-day systems run $6,500–$9,500. Custom-tile walk-in showers run $6,500–$14,000 depending on tile, niche, bench, and glass. Curbless (zero-entry) tile conversions run $9,500–$18,000+ because of the framing and waterproofing work needed to slope the subfloor.
Our Process
What it actually looks like from the free walkthrough through final hand-off.
We measure, photograph, and quote both the one-day system option and the custom-tile option line-item. You pick the path that fits your budget and timeline.
Old tub and surround out, subfloor and studs inspected. If we find rot or mold — common in 1980s and 1990s tub surrounds — we photograph it, price the repair separately, and get your approval before continuing.
For tile: full Schluter-KERDI membrane bonded to walls and pan. For one-day systems: factory-built base set and locked, wall panels installed, all seams sealed.
New valve, head, trim, and accessories. Glass door (sliding, pivot, or frameless) installed once silicone has cured.
Every detail reviewed with you. Care instructions, warranty paperwork, and final clean-up before we leave.

Tub-to-Shower Conversions FAQs
Real questions we get on the phone every week — answered straight.
How much does a tub-to-shower conversion cost in Greenville SC?
One-day acrylic conversions start at $4,500. Solid-surface one-day systems run $6,500–$9,500. Custom-tile walk-in showers run $6,500–$14,000. Curbless conversions run $9,500–$18,000+ because of the slope and waterproofing work.
Is the one-day shower really done in one day?
Yes — for acrylic and solid-surface wall systems on the existing footprint, demo and full install happens on a single working day. The glass door is typically installed the next morning once the silicone has cured. Custom tile builds take 5–7 working days because tile, waterproofing, and grout each need their own cure window.
Will removing my tub hurt resale value?
If your home keeps at least one tub (typically the hall or guest bath), converting the primary tub to a walk-in shower almost always increases value in the Upstate market. The only time we recommend keeping a tub is if you only have one in the whole house — losing your last tub can soften resale to families with very young children.
What if you find rot or mold behind the old tub?
We pop the old surround, photograph what we find, and price any subfloor or stud repair separately before we proceed. No surprise add-ons. This is the most common hidden issue in 1980s–1990s Upstate bathrooms and we plan for it on every estimate.
Can I convert a fiberglass tub-shower combo?
That's the most common conversion we do. We pop the fiberglass unit out, inspect the subfloor and studs, repair anything we find, and install your new shower on the same footprint. Most older Greenville, Anderson, and Spartanburg neighborhoods have these exact units.
Do you offer financing on a tub-to-shower conversion?
Yes — through our lending partners, including 0% promotional plans for qualified buyers and longer-term low-monthly-payment plans. Ask about specific options at your free in-home estimate.
