Cave-Style Walk-In Shower

The Marchbanks family in Greer wanted a primary shower that finally matched the rest of their home. We tore out the existing white-marble shower with mosaic accent stripes and rebuilt it as a cave-style walk-in — large-format porcelain slabs run continuously across the walls and floor, a built-in tile bench with a hidden ledge for shampoo and a razor, a wall-mounted rainfall head paired with a separate handheld wand on a thermostatic valve, two lit recessed niches, and a frameless glass enclosure. A complete waterproof system sits behind the tile, with epoxy grout on the wet walls for stain resistance and low maintenance.

Project Highlights

  • Full demo of existing white-marble shower and floor
  • Large-format porcelain slab walls and shower floor
  • Built-in tile bench with hidden shelf detail
  • Two recessed niches with under-niche lighting
  • Brushed gold rainfall head, handheld wand, and thermostatic valve
  • Frameless tempered glass enclosure

Shower-to-Tub Acrylic Conversion

Before

This Greenville homeowner wanted a soaking tub back in the space — partly for resale, partly so the grandkids had somewhere to take a bath when they visit — and they wanted it done fast. We removed the dated fiberglass shower stall and pivot door, repaired the framing behind it, set a new alcove tub, and installed a premium acrylic wall surround with a large-format subway-tile look. A semi-frameless sliding glass tub door finished the enclosure. No tile, no grout, nothing to scrub between the lines — the wet-area install was done in a single working day.

Project Highlights

  • Fiberglass shower stall and pivot door removed and disposed
  • New alcove soaking tub set on leveled mortar base
  • Premium acrylic wall system (subway-tile look) over waterproofed substrate
  • Semi-frameless sliding glass tub door with brushed nickel hardware
  • New single-handle valve, tub spout, and handheld combo
  • Installed in a single working day

  • Corner whirlpool replaced with freestanding soaking tub
  • Dark oak double vanity replaced with white marble-topped unit
