Tile Bath-to-Shower Conversion in Anderson
Tile bath-to-shower conversion in Anderson — waterproofed tile walls, corner shelves, new shower door, tile floor, quartz countertops, and refreshed fixtures.
About This Project
The second Brett J. project in Anderson — this one was the master bath. We removed the existing tub, wall tile, and related plumbing fixtures, inspected the framing and subfloor, and completed minor repairs before rebuilding the wet area as a full tile walk-in shower. The shower uses a complete Wedi or Schluter waterproofing system, wall tile set with epoxy grout for durability and stain resistance, and color-matched silicone at every change of plane. Two corner shelves and a showerhead with handheld attachment finish out the wet wall, and a new shower door was installed after final measurement and leveling. Outside the shower, we removed the existing tile floor and carpet up to the bathroom entrance and installed about 60 square feet of new tile flooring with a threshold transition and PVC baseboard. Countertops were swapped for new quartz or granite with undermount sinks, and we refreshed the paint, vanity finish, mirrors, electrical devices, vanity lights, and fixtures so the whole room reads as a single, complete remodel.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a bath-to-shower conversion?
It removes an existing bathtub and replaces it with a walk-in shower built for easier daily access, updated style, and better function for homeowners who never use the tub.
Why use epoxy grout in the shower?
Epoxy grout is stronger and far more stain- and water-resistant than standard cement grout — it doesn't need sealing, won't darken over time the way regular grout does, and is the cleanest choice for a low-maintenance shower.
Was this only a shower project?
No. The scope also covered new tile flooring, new quartz or granite countertops, paint, fixtures, mirrors, lighting, electrical updates, and a vanity refresh — a full bathroom remodel built around the shower conversion.
